Brief Company History

PT Pengusahaan Daerah Industri Pulau Batam (Persero), or Persero Batam, is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) in Indonesia established with the primary goal of developing facilities and infrastructure in the industrial region of Batam Island. The founding of this company aligns with the government’s vision to harness the strategic economic potential of Batam Island. Over time, Persero Batam has undergone a significant evolution of roles, transitioning from its initial focus on industrial development to transforming into an integrated Container Port and Logistics Service Provider.

Shareholder

PT Pengusahaan Daerah Industri Pulau Batam (Persero), or commonly known as Persero Batam, is an Indonesian State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) established to develop infrastructure and facilities in the industrial region of Batam Island. The entire share ownership of the company, amounting to 100%, is held by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), delegated to PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (Persero) via Special Power of Attorney, number SKK-53/MBU/09/2020. 

As a state-owned enterprise, the Board of Commissioners and Directors are directly appointed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Controlling Shareholder. The selection of the Board of Commissioners and Directors is based on their competence and achievements. The duties and responsibilities of the Board of Commissioners and Directors are regulated by the Articles of Association of PT Pengusahaan Daerah Industri Pulau Batam (Persero), in accordance with the directives of the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS).
